AWL-Techniek invests in innovative 3D metal printing system

AWL is proud of the installation of an innovative 3D metal printing system at the headquarters in Harderwijk. The last years, we have gathered experience in metal and plastics printing. In addition to the two 3D printers that we are already use, this 3D metal printing system, is an investment in the future. The printer, the Desktop Metal Studio System+ is the first of its kind in the Benelux and one of the first in Europe.

Wouter Zweers, Technology Manager at AWL, is delighted with the DM Studio: “The 3D metal printer provides unprecedented new possibilities. Especially the freedom in design and the short period of time from idea to product are essential for AWL. We see a great future in additive production of metal parts, this is an important reason for this investment. It allows us to provide our customers with quick and reliable solutions." With this investment, AWL explores the potential that metal additive manufacturing offers our market. The Desktop Metal Studio System+ was chosen because of its technical possibilities and user friendliness. Luuk Nollet, Development Engineer at AWL: “For this system, it is not required to handle dangerous metal powders and requirements to the branches are limited. At the same time, the system delivers high quality parts and the technology offers a future promise of scalability to high production levels. Looking to the long term future we expect that 3D printing technologies become part of our machines and services to our customers.
